disagreeable object is 2009 production for The Next Move, a series of performances created by the next generation of Australian dance makers and presented by Chunky Move. The Next Move is designed to bridge the divide between independent choreographers developing new work and more established choreographers running their own organisations or engaged with larger commissions.

disagreeable object was first presented at the Arts House, Meat Market in June 2008 with the support of Arts Victoria, Besen Foundation, Ausdance, Moriarty's Project, Arts House, City of Melbourne and the initial development funding by the Australia Council for the Arts. The presentation of disagreeable object by Chunky Move is a redevelopment of this original work. Reminiscent of an old silent film in its movement style and execution, this bizarre and beautiful work revealed Heaven in an unforgettable ‘pea de deux’ with Brian Lucas.
