The Maximised program provides in-kind support to Australian contemporary dance practitioners producing and presenting their own work.

The program aims to alleviate the producing pressure often experienced by independent artists by providing access to rehearsal space and general administrative support.

Choreographers supported through the program are encouraged to include a public outcome at the completion of their Maximised period, which can range from an intimate showing to a larger event.

I had an extremely positive experience doing a Maximised residency at Chunky Move. The residency has given us the opportunity to create a full-length show that can stand on its own feet, and not have suffered from lack of studio time or resources. We are in a very good position because of Maximised, and I couldn’t recommend the program more. – James Welsby (2014)

I felt fully supported during my time working at Chunky Move. It was nice to be able to work in such a quiet environment and to be undisturbed in the creative process. I really appreciate the support of Chunky Move during this time. – Natalie Abbott (2014)

The Maximised program continues to be an extremely valuable support program for independent dance artists. It supports the community and offers choreographers and dancers the space to develop their practice, experiment and trial new ideas. My only suggestion is to keep this supportive program alive! –   Jo Lloyd (2013)

Please note that the number of Maximised projects the Company can offer each year varies depending on the Company’s schedule and studio availability.
