Karen Sibbing is a Melbourne based actress who will be performing in Complexity of Belonging – a project by Falk Richter and Anouk van Dijk that will premiere as part of the 2014 Melbourne Festival.
A graduate of the Victorian College of the Arts, Karen was selected for the Red Stitch Actors Theatre graduate program, where she appeared in The Gronholm Method and Oh Well Never Mind Bye.
As a collaborating artist of Fraught Outfit (Artistic director, Adena Jacobs) Karen has appeared in Electra (Dog Theatre), Persona (Belvoir street Theatre/ Malthouse Theatre/Theatre Works) and On the bodily education of young girls (MTC). She is a core member of The Daniel Schlusser ensemble for which she has appeared in Peer Gynth (VCA), Ophelia doesn’t live here anymore (Chambermade Opera/ Bell Shakespeare), Menagerie (MTC) and M+M (Melbourne International festival). Other credits include The Colour of Glass (La Mama), Undine (Four Larks Theatre), The Plague Dances (Malthouse Theatre), NOA (La Mama) and Tame (Malthouse Education).
Karen is the 2013 recipient of the Green Room Award for Best Female Performer in Independent Theatre, for her performance in Persona in 2012.
