Mel Page is an Australian costume and set designer for theatre and film. For Chunky Move, she is currently designing costumes for Anouk van Dijk’s latest work, Depth of Field, and was part of the creative team for Complexity of Belonging that premiered at the 2014 Melbourne Festival.
Page’s costume design credited include Once In Royal David’s City, Angels In America Parts I And II, Small and Tired, Hamlet, Strange Interlude, As You Like It, The Promise, Old Man and Medea for Belvoir; Les Liaisons Dangereuses, Pygmalion, Baal and Vs. Macbeth for Sydney Theatre Company; La Pompeii for Malthouse Theatre; and The Suicide, The Only Child and Spring Awakening Hayloft Project.
Page was nominated for a Sydney Theatre Award for her work on Les Liaisons Dangereuses and received a Green Room Award nomination for Best Design for Spring Awakening with Hayloft Project. Alongside her theatre work, Page production designed Bille Pleffer’s short film Baby Baby, Great Acts Of Kindness and Hollow Bones and worked in the art department on feature films The Tender Hook (Jonathan Ogilvie) and My Year Without Sex (Sarah Watt).
