Rhian Hinkley is a filmmaker and new media artist based in Melbourne who made his debut with Chunky Move as Projection Designer for Next Move production AORTA (2013).
Rhian’s film credits include Pornstar (2002), Buckstop (1997), Face of the West (2000) and Boz’n’Hok vs Theatre of Speed (2005). He also collaborated with dance companies, being part of the creative team for Trevor Patrick ‘s I could pretend the sky is water (2011), BalletLab’s Origami and Sandra Parker Dance’s Out of Light. In 2009, Hinkley formed Encyclopedia of Animals with Christopher Brown and in 2010 they co-directed Urchin at The Arts Centre, Melbourne. Rhian has also a longstanding relationship with Back to Back Theatre, creating the animated components for Ganesh Versus The Third Reich, Food Court and Soft.
He is currently the artistic director of Nebula – a portable studio/performance space designed specifically for artists with disabilities and produced by Arts Access Victoria.
