Stephen Phillips is a Melbourne-based actor who performed in Chunky Move’s L U C I D (2016) and Complexity of Belonging – a project by Falk Richter and Anouk van Dijk that premiered as part of the 2014 Melbourne Festival, and has gone on to tour across Europe and Asia.
He has appeared for Melbourne Theatre Company in Boy Gets Girl, Take Me Out, Metamorphoses, Les Liaisons Dangereuses, The Madwoman of Chaillot, Who’s Afraid of Virginia Woolf?, Realism and A Streetcar Named Desire for MTC’s Explorations season. His other stage credits include The Odyssey for Malthouse Theatre and Black Swan Theatre; and The Tempest and As You Like It for Bell Shakespeare. On television, he has appeared in Jack Irish, Barracuda, The Secret River, Childhood’s End, Winners and Losers, Australia on Trial, Offspring, Blue Heelers, Neighbours, Love Letters, Last Man Standing, City Homicide and Blue Heelers. Feature film credits include Disclosure, Turkey Shoot Reloaded, X and The Killer Elite. Stephen also works extensively as a voiceover artist and audio book narrator.
Stephen is a graduate of the Victorian college of the Arts.
