REDSHIFT is science as performance, conducted in movement.

In cosmology, redshift is a way of describing our relative distance to an object in space. With this work, James Batchelor wants to inspire curiosity and invites audiences to think about dance as a conversation, a collaboration and exchange with other discipline and communities. REDSHIFT is your opportunity to discover James Batchelor’s magnetic movement style and experience his refined practice at the intersection of dance and visual arts.

Don’t miss the world premiere of REDSHIFT, a new work by one of Australia’s most exciting young makers, James Batchelor as part of Next Move 2017.

In 2017, Chunky Move celebrates 10 years of Next Move and the Company’s commitment to supporting a vibrant dance sector. Chunky Move’s Next Move program is supported by Daniel Besen.
