Antony Hamilton is an award-winning Australian choreographer. He has created works for many companies including The Lyon Opera Ballet, Skanes Dansteater, Chunky Move and Australian Dance Theatre. Hamilton also works as a teacher and curator, and has lead workshops and devised programmes for various organisations including NGV, Arts House, STRUT and Tanz Im August.


His major independent works include the internationally acclaimed Black Project 1 (2012), and MEETING (2015), and his recent NYX (2015) for the Melbourne Festival. Commissions include Keep Everything (Chunky Move 2012), Black Project 3 (Lyon Opera Ballet and Sentinel (Skanes Dansteater) (2016). For Black Project 1 & 2 and Keep Everything Antony received a number of awards, including the prestigious Helpmann Award for Best Choreography in a Dance or Physical Theatre Work.


Hamilton was the inaugural recipient of the Russell Page Fellowship in 2004, the Tanja Liedtke Fellowship in 2009 and a Creative Australia Fellowship in 2012. In 2014 he was dance curator at The National Gallery of Victoria and was the Honorary Resident Director of Lucy Guerin Inc. He is currently a Sidney Myer Creative Fellow.
