Class with Martin
My class will consist of a thorough warm up followed by a series of guided (mini) durational physical practices that aim to support and compliment a dancers existing physical and choreographic practice. I will then move onto either improvisation based exercises or phrase work that incorporates my current interests as a maker. I try to formulate a class experience that does not impose notions of what ‘should be’ or an ‘ideal’ physical form that one should strive towards but rather I am to facilitate a situation whereby dance, growth, surprise and joy may arise in ways that cannot be directly pre-determined.
